Project 365 – Day 104: Camper van and mopeds
April 13 2012
Being it’s Friday the 13th, I had considered going and photographing black cats, people walking beneath ladders, danger signs etc, but before I saw a single cat of any color I came across this campervan down a back alley.
I believe it’s a 1970’s Westfalia, but could be completely wrong re the brand and age. It is certainly a vintage something which is in keeping with it’s present owner Cul-de-Sac which is a vintage clothing/accessories store on blvd Saint Laurent. You may recall I posted a few shots of Cul-de-Sac back in February.
It screamed out to be photographed and given a little HDR love, particularly given the surroundings of where it was parked.
Upon exiting the back lane I was drawn to a moped parked at the side of the street. I thought a low angle shot looking up the side of the building opposite would make a nice composition. With hindsight I probably would have been better to have a shallow depth of field so that the handle bars were more defined from the background.
You can tell that spring is here by the number of scooters now on the roads. Just across the street I came across another and thought the graffiti in the background would make for a nice shot.
Not far along avenue Duluth there was a nice shiny white Vespa which made a nice contrast against the green shrubs behind.
On my way back I called into Cafeteria on blvd Saint Laurent. They have been closed for renovations for quite a few weeks and I was happy to see that one of my favorite brunch spots is open again. I love the job they have done on the interior and look forward to having brunch there tomorrow. I would have taken pictures but workmen were still doing some final touches here and there. So until I get to take some, here is a pic of their new logo (and name – Cafeteria Kitchen Bar) illuminated on a side wall.
Have a great weekend everyone !
